Triangel
Mondo did a lot of thinking on living, the art of living and living with regard for a sustainable attitude towards energy.
As a consequence of this, “Triangel” was born, a house that surpasses the ordinary and can serve as a model
for the concerns of Mondo.
Guido Henri De Couvreur is responsible for the Triangel concept and the energetical calculations.
A group of Mondo members further developed the idea and the house plan was desingned
by the architect Michel Van Engeland.
The future inhabitants, helped by family and friends, carried out the construction with their own hands.
There was some professional contribution for carpentry and the floor.
The Triangel project is meant to be a subsidised home, aesthetically and also bio-ecologically acceptable.
The house is a wooden skeleton-like structure, of which the outer walls form a so to speak insulated shell,
which leaves the interior decoration free and unrestrained. A lasting creative and characteristic feature.
The solar roof, contrary to what is usually the case, is an integral part of the roof.
Even if the glass is broken the roof will remain waterproof an safe.
The solar collector itself helps assuring the strength of the structure.
Triangel does not only serve as a model as far as energy and ecology are concerned.
The dimension of the house makes it appropriate to a social loan.
Triangel, a house of human scale, is as much in harmony with the environment as possible.
A new element in living culture is born.
